Day 1: Arrival and sightseeing

Your journey will be starting from the capital city of Kathmandu. It is one of the ancient cities of the country that will completely offer you a pastiche of awe-inspiring heritage sites. Our driver will pick you up from the airport and drop you at the hotel. You will get a welcome drink on behalf of the hotel. Then you can go to the local sightseeing of the city. If you are an ardent lover of history and architecture, then you will definitely fall in love with the small historical artifacts of the city. Most of the population follows Hinduism in the country but Nepal welcomes followers all across religion. It is the cultural hub where the people all across countries come forward to enjoy. The unique sight of the heritage sites will be a lifetime experiment. In spite of the destructive earthquake, the capital city never loses its spirits in alluring the tourists.

Firstly you will be visiting Pashupatinath temple. This temple is built on the banks of the beautiful Bagmati River. It comes under one of UNESCO’s world heritage sites. Within the temple complex, you will find wide ranges of ashrams, temples devoted to other gods and goddesses. Pashupatinath is the national idol of the country. So it is a ritual to visit this auspicious place on your Nepal tour. Hindus consider it as one of the most sacred ones. On Maha Shivratri, the pilgrims actually travel across countries to pour holy water on the idol of Pashupatinath. For Shaivites, it is one of the sacred abodes of Lord Shiva. During the reign of Prachanda Dev, Licchavi King this temple was rebuilt.

If you are an ardent lover of architecture, then this pagoda styled Nepalese temple will definitely give you visual pleasure. The cubic structures along with carved rafters made out of wood are an added value to the architecture. The copper roof along with golden covering has given the temple elegant looks. The open corridor like outer sanctum and the inner sanctum of the idol is also adorned with skillful artworks.

Next, you will be visiting Boudhanath stupa. This place is quite famous among Buddhists. The large mandala makes this stupa as one of the largest ones in Nepal. It also comes under UNESCO’s world heritage sites. The staring eyes of Buddha directing into four directs are the main feature of this stupa. As per Buddhist religious scriptures, this site holds the last remains of the 27th of Buddha, Kassapa Buddha. The archaeologists believed that the site was built around the 14th century. After 2015 catastrophic destruction, it took 1 year to reconstruct the building. The priests performed 3days rituals of purification before opening the doors of the stupa. The mystic beauty of the place will definitely allure you to unravel history and architecture gradually.

In the evening you can visit the streets of Thamel for enjoying the nightlife in the capital city. You can also try out local delicacies in the streets of the capital city. At night you will be staying in Kathmandu.

 

Day 2: Kathmandu to Nagarkot

Altitude: 2175m

Distance: 28kms (2hrs)

On day 2 of your Nepal budget tour, after taking breakfast you will be driving to Nagarkot via Bhaktapur Durbar Square. It is one of the heritage sites located in the eastern part of Kathmandu. Within the complex, you will find out four different squares. King Jitamitra Malla during 1769 built this 55 window Palace. In the temple complex, you will find out temples devoted to different gods and goddess. If you are an ardent follower of architecture then you will be completely amazed at the skilled handworks of Newari artists. In the temple complex, you will find Pagoda styled temples as well. This place holds a symbolism of Nepalese architecture accurately to the tourists.

After visiting Bhaktapur, you will be traveling to Nagarkot. Driving across the trails of mountainous terrains always give the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature. It is an amazing experience to see the sunset in the mountains. While driving on the road, you will get a pleasant view of sudden changes in your journey. Day 3: Nagarkot to Kathmandu

Distance: 28kms (2hrs)

Early in the morning, you can opt for a beautiful sunrise view of Nagarkot. Among the tourists, this location is quite famous for its scenic beauty. One can easily engage in the beautiful panoramic view of Himalayan ranges. If you are adventurous in nature, you can explore your free spirits across these mountainous terrains. It is a great opportunity for the backpackers to go hiking.

This small village is located around 32km on the east side of Kathmandu. Among the foreign backpackers, Nagarkot is quite famous for its extraordinary scenic beauty. You will enjoy the calm and serenity all around you. In city life we never get pure air, here you will get an opportunity to breathe fresh air. The natural vegetation with a bio-diversified environment can also give you a chance to explore different varieties of flora and fauna.

Nepal has its own architectural styles. If you are fascinated with the old temple architecture, then you can explore such primitive styles in Nagarkot. You can visit Brijeshwari Devi temple, Vajreshwari temple, Mahakali temple. You can also visit the Bhangeri Durbar and its grand palace architecture.

You can also go for hiking towards Changu Narayan temple. The enriched works of temple architecture will easily grasp your attention. This two storied temple showed the primitive Nepalese architecture style. The temple is covered with Champak tree. After a half day sightseeing in Nagarkot, you will be driving back to Kathmandu. Stay overnight at Kathmandu.

 

Day 4: Departure

Nepal Visa - The passport holders of India do not require any Nepal Visa. They must carry their Voter ID card or passport (For Indians).

 

Transportation: If you are booking your Nepal tour via Nepal Tourism Package, then you will get cars like Toyota Etios, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Polo, Tata Manza or similar kind of cars for 1-3 persons.
