Kathmandu, Pokhara with River Rafting

Day 1: Arrival and Kathmandu sightseeing

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu airport, our driver will pick you from the gateway. Then you will be dropped to the hotel. A warm welcome will be hosted by our hotel representative after your checking into the hotel. The representative will also brief you the itinerary properly. After a cordial introduction with each other, you can start your day tour around the capital city of Kathmandu. Nepal Tourism remains incomplete without proper sightseeing around the Kathmandu. UNESCO listed this city as an ancient one for its enriched cultural heritage. You will visit Pashupatinath temple at first. This gorgeous temple shrine is built on the banks of Bagmati River. Licchavi King, Prachanda Dev built this famous temple devoted to a heavenly incarnation of Lord Shiva. On the auspicious day of Mahashivratri, millions of pilgrims travel to this beautiful temple to seek the blessings.  Apart from the spiritual revelation, if you are an ardent lover of architecture, then you will definitely appreciate the beautiful craftsmanship.

Next, you will be visiting Boudhanath stupa. This Buddhist spiritual site dominates the religious landscape of the country. It is said that this famous religious site was built around the 14th century immediately after the death of Lord Buddha. A large number of pilgrims visit this notable site for offering prayers to the lord. The white dome structure made of marble is quite enticing to look at. Earlier it was an important route for trading purpose. This white colored dome has compassionate eyes of Lord Buddha painted looking at four cardinal directions. After visiting these recognized places, you will stroll along the commercial streets of Thamel. This place is quite famous among international tourists for its exciting nightlife culture. In every nook and corner, you will find out the casinos to try out your luck. Only the foreigners are allowed to enter the casinos. You can also experiment with your taste buds in the roadside stalls of Thamel. You will find out authentic Nepalese cuisines in these stalls. At night you will stay in Kathmandu.

 

Day 2: Fly to Pokhara and paddling on Phewa Lake

Distance: 200kms (1hr 15minutes)

Mode of transport: flight and then drive  

Today early in the morning you will take a flight to Pokhara. You will be flying across the mountains to reach this metropolitan city of Nepal. This city will allure yours visually. Mostly the travelers use this circuit for catching an amazing glimpse of the surrounding mountains. While flying across the mountains, one can feel the heights. After checking into the hotel, you can go for visiting Phewa Lake. This freshwater lake is located in the southern part of Pokhara valley. This lake is known to be the second largest one in Nepal. Mostly the tourists visit this lake on their way to Tal Barahi Temple. This temple shrine is located at the center of the lake. It is one of the recognized temple shrines located in Pokhara. If you have a spiritual bend of mind, then you must visit this beautiful pagoda styled temple. This Hindu temple shrine is devoted to goddess Durga. She has been worshipped in the form of Barahi. It is said that King Kulmandhan Shah, first Kaski king of Shah Dynasty dreamt of goddess Durga. He devoted his life for the worship of the cosmic goddess. After visiting the temple, you can witness a picturesque view of the surrounding mountains and its reflection on the crystal clear water of the lake. The crimson red colored sky and falling of sun behind the mountains will be a memorable sight. At night you will stay in Pokhara.

 

Day 3: Sightseeing of Pokhara and later that on the route river rafting with camping overnight

If you want to go for a sight tour around Pokhara then start your day with Davis Falls. This fall is one of the major tourist spots located in Kaski district. The cascading water forms a deep gorge reaching underground. It is said that the tunnel is around 150m long and 30m in depth. The locals and foreign tourists visit this waterfall for its natural beauty. The tunnel ends at the other end of Gupteshwar cave. This cave is devoted to Lord Shiva. The local calls this cave as the underground one. Phewa Lake is the source of this waterfall. There is a lucky pond near the waterfalls. Therefore, tourists love to try their lucks by dropping coins in the pond. Next, you will be visiting Bundhyabashini temple located nearby a town called Bagar. It is said that the earlier king Siddhi Narayan Shah built this temple in 1942. Goddess Bhagawati is worshipped wholeheartedly in this temple premise. One will have to take stairs to reach the top of the temple. From the top one will get a fantastic view of Pokhara city. This shikhara styled temple has beautiful figurines of Hanuman, Ganesha, Laxmi will show you the wide practice of Hinduism in the valley of Pokhara. If you are an ardent follower of art and architecture, then you will like the architecture of the temple. Next, you will be visiting Peace Pagoda. This Buddhist stupa is built to unite the people across creeds and races to come together for a bigger cause like world peace. This stupa stands high as the symbol of peace. The people across different countries come in search of peace in meditation. The calmness of the architecture will bring you a completely different explanation of world peace.

If you are quite adventurous at heart, then you must go for exploring your adrenalin rush. All these adventurous sports are practiced keeping the Himalayas as the backdrop. Paragliding is one of the most appreciated sports among adventure seekers. It will be a lifetime experience when one gets an amazing sensation of free fall or getting a panoramic sight of the surrounding mountains. Even the ultra-light flight will take you close to the mountains. Height has always been an area of exploration among the adventure seekers. This opportunity will take you to explore such kind of experience. You can also indulge yourself in river rafting across Gandaki River. This white water river rafting will redefine your idea of adventure on the water.

Day 4: Drive to Kathmandu early morning, Kathmandu sightseeing overnight at hotel.

You have reached the last stretch of your journey. Before leaving your mountain retreat, begin your day with an amazing drive to Sarangkot from Pokhara to witness the picturesque view of sunrise behind the mountains. It will be a lifetime experience to catch an amazing glimpse of these mountains for last time before taking your homebound flight. Your early morning drive across the mountainous terrains will be an added experience in your travel diary. After catching such beautiful glimpse, you will be driving back to Kathmandu.

After reaching Kathmandu, you can go for Swayambhunath stupa. This temple is located in the northwestern side of Kathmandu valley. Located on a hillock, this stupa has an immense religious significance among the Buddhist followers. The Buddhist followers all across the world come to this stupa to practice different schools of philosophy. After reaching this religious shrine, one will understand the immense impact of Lord Buddha on the lives of common people.

In the evening you can stroll along the streets of Kathmandu to grab some souvenirs or small gifts for your loved ones. You can also grab some Nepalese delicacies from the roadside stalls. It will be an overall experience for a lifetime. Create some amazing moments in this magical land before taking your flight. At night you will stay in Kathmandu.

 

Day 5: Departure

Nepal Visa - The passport holders of India do not require any Nepal Visa. They must carry their Voter ID card or passport (For Indians).

 

Transportation: If you are booking your Nepal tour via Nepal Tourism Package, then you will get cars like Toyota Etios, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Polo, Tata Manza or similar kind of cars for 1-3 persons. Cars like Tourist Van (Toyota Hiace) or Jeep or Scorpio will be allotted for 10 persons. We will provide Green Plate vehicles for our tourists.

 

Recommendation - Some tourists avail flight on way to Pokhara from Kathmandu. It is advisable to take at least one way via road to enjoy the enchanting beauty of the natural landscape of Nepal.
