Day 1: Arrival

After reaching the Tribhubhan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be picked up by the driver. You will then be offered welcome drinks at the time of checking into the hotel. After a small introduction among the groups, you can spend the evening strolling across the streets of the capital city.

While traveling to any country or state we are always eager to visit the capital city. With the heart full of such excitement if you travel to Kathmandu, you will not be disappointed. The city has shown its own charm to the travelers. After small interaction and briefing, one can stroll around the city. As you will be tired due to flight, you can start your evening in the amazing streets of Thamel. It is one of the commercialized streets located near the capital city of Kathmandu. While traveling to the streets of Thamel, you will get a kaleidoscopic vision. For the last four decades, the alleys of Thamel are famous for selling different attractive objects. It is a hub of restaurants, cafes, hotels, and bars. You will be completely astonished by the dynamic traffic-free zone as well as horn-free zone.

Day 2: Kathmandu sightseeing

After taking breakfast, you will be going for the guided tour of the capital city. The travelers who love to study historical facts will definitely enjoy the city of Kathmandu due to its highest number of world heritage sites.

Kathmandu is well known among the tourists for its historical relics. If you spend a few hours a day, then you will explore a few sites dated back from primitive times. It has a total of seven world’s heritage sites as listed by UNESCO. It is a city where you will find pilgrimage sites of different religious values as well.

You will be going for the darshan of Pashupatinath. This place holds a view of religious and spiritual values. You will encounter different hermits practicing penance in the holy shrine. The cremations are also carried out in the holy river of Bagmati. Unless the Hindus, no one is allowed to visit the temple premise. Pashupatinath is the national deity of the country and it comes under the list of UNESCO’s world heritage sites list. On MahaShivaratri, more than 1 million devotees visit the sacred temple of Pashupatinath. PrachandaDev from Lichchavi dynasty built this temple in the 5th century. In the temple complex, you will find other temples, ashrams, and monuments as well. You will stay overnight at the hotel.

Then you will be going to Boudhanath Stupa. It is one of the largest stupas located in Nepal. This stupa is listed under the world’s heritage sites made by UNESCO. This stupa route was used earlier as the trade route to enter the Kathmandu valley. It stands as a symbol of peace. This pilgrimage site is quite famous among the Buddhist followers. The Licchavi kings built this monument in the 14th century after the demise of Lord Buddha. The followers offer their prayers in the stupa. The Nepalese calls this stupa ChortenGhenpo meaning the great stupa. The refugees from China migrated to Kathmandu and from that time onwards the place became an important site.

In the evening you can go to the Pashupatinath temple for prayers. The chimes of prayer bells along with the cool breeze of Bagmati River will give you a religious spree. You will enjoy the beauty of spiritual sites in this particular location. Many tourists need spiritual solace to get a break from a mundane life. The evening prayers inside the temple premise will be an absolutely peaceful experience for you.

Day 3: Kathmandu sightseeing

Today you will be going for another part of Kathmandu. After this, you will be visiting Patan. You will be followed the visit with Lalitpur, the second largest town located in the valley on the shore of the River Bagmati. You will encounter beautiful ancient architectural masterpieces in the city. Next, you will be visiting the Durbar square. It is mostly the square of temple squad located in the central part of the capital city. In the city, you will find the refugee center of Tibetan community. Here, you will find out the cultural practice of the Tibetan people as well. You will find the carpet industry is the main resources of income for these Tibetan communities. You can also buy beautiful carpets from these local shops.

If you will get time from the above-mentioned itinerary, then you will visit Swayambhunath Stupa. In Tibetan language, it is called Sublime trees. Within the temple complex, varieties of trees are noticed. During the Licchavi period, this beautiful stupa was built along with other temples and shrines. On the walls of the stupa, the eyes of Buddha are painted showing the four cardinal directions. The iconography with the stupa took its influence from the Vajrayana tradition of Newar Buddhism. In the Kathmandu valley, different schools of Buddhist philosophy are practiced. This temple is also known as Monkey temple, as many holy monkeys used to stay in the northwestern part of the temple. It is also believed that during the 3rd century BC, Emperor Ashoka visited this place in learning Buddhist philosophy.

Day 4: Drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan

Today you will be driving to Chitwan. According to UNESCO, it comes under the world’s heritage sites. It is famous for its wildlife sanctuary. Very few national parks can conserve the wildlife so wonderfully. This national park will give you a few more reasons to fall in love with the country. You will take around 5hours to reach this secluded place. If you love to enjoy solitude and secluded time, then you will really enjoy your sole time in Chitwan. After lunch, you can go for canoe riding at Rapti River. You will be riding your canoe along the Rapti river and enjoy the beautiful sunset in the river. If you are lucky enough then you can catch the glimpse of crocodiles taking a sunbath on the shores. You will be offered delicacies of Nepal in your dinner.

Day 5: Jungle safari

Today you will be engaging into one of the best experiences of your life. You will start your day with the jungle safari. Wildlife enthusiasts love to take a jeep safari to go inside the jungle to view these endangered species closely. Inside the jungle, you will be able to find out some rare species of South East Asia like red pandas, wild elephants, boar, Himalayan Tahr, and snow leopard. You will be completely awestruck with the wildlife culture of this naturally conserved park.

One animal that will completely make you flabbergasted is a one-horned rhino. You will be completely amazed. You will see a separated conservation park for them. The beauty of these species lies how well they are being kept at the park. Post lunch you will be visiting the nearby village of the ethnic tribal group called Tharu. You will engage with their cultural lifestyle and their handicraft skills. At night you will see the cultural night of these Tharu people.

Day 6: Drive to Lumbini from Chitwan

Early in the morning, you will be driving to Lumbini. Among the pilgrims, it is the auspicious birthplace of Lord Buddha. It is the country where people with different interests travel in search of mental peace. In this country, one can find solace by meditating, trekking, adventure or religious sites visiting. Any religious follower can visit the place to get wide practices of Buddhism. The pilgrims travel there to meditate, learn and worship. It is an amalgamation of different Buddhist practices. Earlier there was a single temple in Lumbini now it has become a monastic complex altogether.

The roadway is from Chitwan to Lumbini is quite bumpy in nature. For four hours, you will have to travel across the road. The Buddhist temples are quite spectacular to look at for its eccentric designs.  Asia is the land where Lord Buddha is followed wholeheartedly. The different architectural styled temples will be a delightful experience for you.

Day 7: Sightseeing

Today after breakfast you will be visiting this UNESCO listed world’s heritage sites. As mentioned earlier, the pilgrims of different religious beliefs come across to visit spiritual sites. Lumbini comes under one of such sites quite famous among the Buddhist pilgrims. You will be thrilled to roam around the places where the enlightened one Lord Buddha had roamed in his childhood days. The mythology and history fanatics will love the holy spirits of the space.

In the Terai region of southern Nepal, Lumbini is located. In 623 BC, Lord Buddha took birth in this sacred place. Buddhism and the Mauryan Empire shared an interconnected relationship. You will find those historical inscriptions in the garden of Lumbini. Emperor Ashoka erected pillars with detailed inscriptions of Buddhism on the walls. Mauryan emperor Ashoka after the bloodshed of the Kalinga war preached the teachings of Buddha all across the wall. In the garden complex of Lumbini, you will find Ashokan pillar with its antique inscriptions written in Pali and Brahmi script dated back in 3rd century BC.

A large number of archeological surveys were conveyed in this location to gather significant proofs. The archeological relics proved Lumbini as one of the major pilgrimage centers in Buddhism. The government of Nepal restored all these antique properties and exhibited them as one of the popular sites in front of world tourism.

Day 8: Drive to Pokhara from Lumbini

After enjoying Nepalese delicacies, you will be driving to Pokhara. If you are traveling to Nepal, then Pokhara should always be there in your bucket list. One will breathe the fresh air of the valley in this beautiful land of Pokhara. It is known among the trekkers as the gateway of entering Annapurna range. The spellbound beauty of Pokhara influences thousands of backpackers every year to enjoy serenity completely secluded from the hustles of life.

On the way to drive, you will take a halt to visit the famous Manakamana temple. This temple is quite popular among the Hindu pilgrims. The spiritual land of Manakamana is believed to fulfill every wish of the pilgrims. This temple shrine is located at the center of Nepal; therefore the pilgrims from any corner of the country can travel to seek blessings from the goddess. It is believed that the devotees from Nepal and India travel to this beautiful religious place once in a lifetime. The traveler love to visit this place to get the beautiful sight of Trishuli River as well. You will find out wide highways constructed along the river joining the remote area like Manakama temple with different corners of Nepal.

The temple is located in the district of Gorkha. In Nepali dialect it means bravery. The temple is located at the top where Kurintar is located underneath. The pilgrims have to board cable cars from here to reach the temple. Due to remote locations, the pilgrims have to take these cable cars to seek the blessings from the temple. Earlier it was quite difficult for the pilgrims to reach the top of the temple. The cable car is introduced to cover a total distance of 104km. If you have a serious issue of vertigo, before taking the cable car you should know the altitude of running cable car (258m) and the temple (1302m). From the top of Manakamana temple, the tourists can get the panoramic view of distant mountains like Annapurna, Himalchuli, and Manaslu.

After visiting the temple, you will be driving back to Pokhara for an overnight stay.

Day 9: Pokhara valley sightseeing

Start your day with a beautiful drive across the exotic landscape to reach Sarangkot. With every single day, you will be flabbergasted with the fabulous view of Pokhara. You will feel yourself close to the lap of nature. While backpacking, the travelers start romanticizing nature. This location will give you every opportunity to relish the beauty.

Sunrise and mountains always share a soulful relation. You will get a picturesque canvas in front of your sight in Sarangkot. When the first rays of morning sun will fall on your face, you will internalize the famous view of the rising sun in the mountains. It will be a breathtaking moment for every traveler when the sunrise behind the snow-clad mountains of Himalayas. After enjoying such a memorable sight, you will be driving back to the hotel.

After taking breakfast, today you will be going for sightseeing around Pokhara. You will be visiting Bindebasini temple at first. It is one of the earliest temples located in the city of Pokhara. Kaski rulers built this temple. Goddess Durga is the prime deity of the temple. You will get a complete view of the Himalayas as well from this region. In the area of the local bazaar, you will find out the temple. With the visit to the temple, you will be visiting the old bazar premises as well. You will also go for visiting a waterfall called PataleChongo, located around 2kms away in the southwest direction of Pokhara. In the summers and monsoons, you will get the view of the gushing water falling from the waterfall. Next, you will be visiting the Gupteshwar cave, located just on the opposite side of the fall. If you are an ardent lover of architecture, then you will find this cave fascinating due to its natural forms made out of the deposits of limestone. You cannot take photographs in the premises of the caves. You will stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: Drive to Kathmandu from Pokhara

Nepal Visa - The passport holders of India do not require any Nepal Visa. They must carry their Voter ID card or passport (For Indians).

The foreigners will get Nepal Visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. One can also manual apply and online apply just to avoid the long queue.

Transportation: If you are booking your Nepal tour via Nepal Tourism Package, then you will get cars like Toyota Etios, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Polo, Tata Manza or similar kind of cars for 1-3 persons. Recommendation - Some tourists avail flight on way to Pokhara from Kathmandu. It is advisable to take at least one way via road to enjoy the enchanting beauty of the natural landscape of Nepal.
