Muktinath often regarded as Muktichhetra is one of the four major religious sites of Nepal. Which is popular also as an area of Shaligram (Ammonite) which is taken by Hindus as holy stone holding the soul of Lord Vishnu. Muktinath is one of 108 Vaishnava shrines which apart from religious significance hold immense potential for nature viewing. Against a backdrop of incredible starkness, you can gaze into the snow covered Annapurna Range to the south and Tibetan plateau towards the north. Ceremonies are held each year in Ram Nawami, Rishi Tarpani and Vijaya Dashami during which thousand of Hindus and Buddhist pilgrims offer homage to Muktinath Holy Premises.
Muktinath Tour from Gorakhpur with NTP is specially crafted 5-day long tour package which initiates from Gorakhpur and proceeds through Prithvi Highway enjoying the scenic beauties of Himalayas prior to arriving in Pokhara whence we will board a flight to Jomsom. A drive from Jomsom will take us to Muktinath- the place of salvation.
Tour Itinerary
Day 01: Drive from Gorakhpur to Pokhara
Pickup from the Gorakhpur railway station and transfer to Sunauli Nepal-India Border (Border formalities are your own responsibility). Check-in at the Nepal side and begin our drive to Pokhara, arriving in the late evening. Pokhara is a tourist's paradise, full of natural and cultural heritage sites, including lakes, caves, Buddhist and Hindus temples, and of course the mountains. You can see the views to the north across Phewa Tal (lake) to the white peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges it is one of the most beautiful Himalayan panoramas in the world. Overnight stay in Pokhara.
Day 02: Fly from Pokhara to Jomsom and Drive to Muktinath-Jomsom
We will have breakfast in the early morning and then fly to Jomsom, a 35 minute flight and then we drive to Muktinath by sharing local Jeep (1.30 hrs) along the Kali Gandaki River. Muktinath is considered as God of Salvation by Hindus. It holds great significance for all spiritual people in the South Asian sub-continent. Muktinath (the provider of salvation) has been one such holy site, where thousands of devotees come to attain the much sought after moksha or nirvana by having a holy bath in the 108 waterspouts named as “Muktidhara”. Hindu devotees take bath under chilled water of 108 waterspouts “Muktidhara” & Mukti Kunda. It is believed that it brings them salvation. You will then have a worship/puja at the Muktinath Temple and drive back to Jomsom. Overnight stay at Jomsom.
Day 3: Breakfast and dinner Free day
Day 04: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara and Pokhara
Sightseeing Tour After breakfast, we will fly back to Pokhara, transfer to the hotel. After Breakfast, you will proceed to Pokhara City for sightseeing places to visit
Bindabashini Temple: Bindabashini is also one of the popular temples in Pokhara. The temple is dedicated to goddess Bhagwati, another manifestation of Shakti. Bindabashini is the mother goddess who fulfills the wishes of her devotees.
Seti Gorge: Another of Pokhara's natural wonders that unfailingly interests visitors is the Seti River. Flowing right through the city, the boisterous river runs completely underground at places. Amazingly, at certain points the river appears hardly two meters wide. But its depth is quite beyond imagination over 20 meters! provides a perfect view of the river's dreadful rush and the deep gorge made by its powerful flow.
Davi's Fall: Locally known as the Patale Chhango, Davi's Fall (also known as Devin's and David's) is a lovely waterfall lying about two km south-west of the Pokhara airport on the Siddhartha Highway. Legend has it that a trekker (Devin, David.) was washed away by the Pardi Khola and mysteriously disappeared down into an underground passage beneath the fall.
Gupteswar Cave: Another cave famous for it's religious importance located in the southern end of the city, Chorepatan. This cave is a sacred and natural cave; there is temple of Lord Shiva.
International Mountain Museum: A museum about mountaineering and its history. You could have description of the people living in the Himalayas and descriptions of the 14 highest peaks and their most famous expeditions. In evening leisure, overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 05: Drive from Pokhara to Gorakhpur
After breakfast, drive to Sunauli (Border formalities is your own responsibility). Check in on the India side continue drive to Gorakhpur late evening Drop at Railway station or your departure point.
