For climbing up the lofty snow cladded mountains of Nepal one needs to challenge own self. The grandeur of the Himalayas will definitely allure the sight and mind of the tourists. It is an opportunity to put a step on the mighty snow covered the Himalayas. As a landlocked country, Nepal offers plenty of opportunity to the Mountaineers to explore the beauty of a few highest peaks of the world. Mera Peak Climbing is one of the most appreciated excursions among foreign travelers. It is the vibrant culture, warm hospitality and diverse practices make the country so remarkable to the international travelers. The beauty of the mountains is in its extravagance. The adventure is to trek across such paths. The climbing upon the Himalayas will give a sensation of traveling against the time to create own history. Mera Peak is located in Sagarnath Zone in Magalangur section. With an approximate height of 6476m, the climbers prefer to summit this peak. It has got three main facets: Mera North (6476m), Mera Central (6461m) and Mera South (6065m). In the 1950s, the British climbers first explored the region. Jimmy Roberts first climbed Mera Central in 1953 along with Sen Tenzing. In 1975, Mera North was ascended by the French climbers called L. Honilis, G Baus and Marcel Jolly. The northern routes of the mountains involve glacier walking of high altitude. Whereas one has to be technically fit to climb the southern and western faces of the mountain peak. For successful climbing upon Mera Peak, one has to be acclimatized properly with the surrounding weather. The main hurdle is to overcome the altitude and weather problem in the mountains.
Day 1: Arrival

Today after landing in the capital city of Kathmandu, our driver will assist you on your way to the hotel. The rest of the day you can spend in strolling across the local market shop. At night you will be offered authentic Nepalese delicacies for dinner. At night you will stay in the capital city.
Day 2: Kathmandu: trip preparation
Altitude: 1300m

Today after the breakfast our climbing assistance will meet you. All your climbing equipment will be checked from our end. During the climbing, Post lunch, you will be briefed about the tour itinerary and you will meet your fellow participants as well. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Fly to Lukla, trek to Paiya (Chutok)
Altitude: 2730m (40 minutes flight)
Meal: B/L/D
Mode of transport: first flight then 6 hours trek
Today you will be boarding an early morning flight. It is advisable to take this flight early morning for clear weather. After reaching Tenzing Hillary Airport, you will be trekking towards Paiya. So today you will be trekking across the jungle trails and enjoy the wildlife culture in the foothills of the Himalayas. On the trekking trail, you will be crossing the suspended bridge located over the Handi Khola. After the bridge, you will be reaching the Surke village. From here, the climbers will have to walk towards the south and cross the Chutok La Pass. Then you will reach Paiyan, also called as Chutok, a small settlement. At night stay in Paiya.
Day 4: Paiya to Panggom
Altitude: 2846m

Time taken: 6 hours
The very next morning you will be trekking towards Panggom. It is located in Solu Khumbu district at an elevation of 2900m. It is located around 50kms south of Mt. Everest. From Paiya you will be descending down towards a suspended bridge. The trekking trail will become slippery till Kari La pass. On the way, you will be traveling across rhododendron forests and bamboo forests. You will be taking a narrow trekking trail. Today you will catch the glimpse of awe-inspiring Dudhkoshi Valley. Dudh Koshi is a river located in the eastern part of Nepal. You will be continuing across the beautiful river valley of Dudh Koshi till you reach Panggom village. This small village sustains mostly on trading and farming. At night you will stay in Panggom.
Day 5: Panggom to Ningsow
Altitude: 2863m

Time taken: 5hrs
After early morning breakfast, you will be trekking to Ningsow. You will have to cross Panggom La Pass. After crossing the pass you will have to trek in an inclined plane towards the north. Then you will be crossing Peseng Kharka Khola. In Nepali, Khola means narrow stream. From there you will have to walk straight to reach Peeng Kharka Danda. After a few more steps, you will have to cross Ningsow Khola. At night you will be staying in the village settled along the bank of Ningsow Khola.
Day 6: Ningsow to Chhatra Khola
Altitude: 2800m

Time taken: 8 hrs
After having breakfast, today it will be a little strenuous. Firstly you will be descending down the mountains and then again take sharply inclined trekking paths to reach Ramailo Danda. This is the place from where the climbers for the first time get the glimpse of Salpa and Mera Peak. Today on your trekking trail you will be entering Makalu Barun National Park. This park was established in 1992 as an extension of Sagarmatha National Park in the eastern part. This tropical forest can give you an amazing view of snow cladded Himalayan peaks. In this national park, one will find diversified species. From here one will be taking the trail towards Chhatra Khola. This trekking trail is known as Pasang Lhamu trail. You can get the glance of red panda if you are lucky enough. At night you will stay in Chhatra Khola.
Day 7: Chhatra Khola to Kothe
Altitude: 3691m
Meal: B/L/D
Time taken: 7hrs
Today you will be taking the trail to Mera Peak. After walking along the Majang Khola, your trekking trail will be merging with the path along the Hinku Khola. Then you will be trekking towards Tashing Ongma. This place is famous among the climbers for its seasonal tea shops. Again you will have to cross the suspended bridge over Sanu Khola. Then you will reach Kothe. Stay overnight in Kothe.
Day 8: Kothe to Thaknak
Altitude: 4358m
Meal: B/L/D
Time taken: 4hrs
Today you will be trekking along the rough ridge of the Hinku Khola. On your trekking trail, you will get the reflection of beautiful Mera Peak. On your trekking path, you will take rest on the western bank of the Hinku Drangka. There you will take lunch in the small settlement of summer herders. From there you will reach a 200-year-old stupa called Lungsumgba Gompa beyond Gondishung. The placement of the stupa on the lap of the mountains will treat you visually. On the walls of the stupa, you will find the route map to Mera Peak. A short trek from this stupa, you will reach Thaknak. It is mostly the location for summer grazing areas that have old shops and lodges. At night you will stay in Thaknak.
Day 9: Thaknak to Khare
Altitude: 5045m

Time taken: 3hrs
Today early in the morning you will be leaving Thaknak. Today you will be taking the deep moraines on the bed of Dig Glacier till Dig Kharka. On the way, you will get to see the remarkable sights of Charpate Himal. On these trekking trails, you will be walking across the moraines till the snout of the famous Hinku Nap and then Shar Glaciers. Today you will be climbing steeply towards Khare. You will catch the glimpse of a northern facet of Mera Peak from this location. Post lunch you will be hiking around Khare. At night you will stay in Khare.
Day 10: Khare: Acclimatization and pre-climbing training

Today is separately kept for acclimatization purpose. You will be given proper climbing training to make yourself prepared for further climbing. The climbing assistance will also teach you how to use your climbing equipment like a harness, ice axe, ascenders, crampons, and climbing boots. You will also learn the best way how to use climbing ropes as well. Stay the night in Khare.
Day 11: Khare to Mera High Camp
Altitude: 5780m
Meal: B/L/D
Time taken: 7hrs
Today you will be walking through the steep trekking trail before reaching Mera Peak Base Camp. You will have to cross the Mera La Pass before reaching Mera High Camp. You will be taking a rocky trail. One has to be quite conscious while walking along the path. You may face any hazardous consequence with little irresponsibility. You will have to walk the rocky trails to get the mighty view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Makalu, Chamlang, Cho Oyu and Baruntse. At night you will stay in Mera High Camp.
Day 12: Mera High Camp to Summit
Altitude: 6461m
Meal: B/L/D
Time taken: 9 hrs
Today is completely dedicated for the expedition purpose. Early in the morning around 3 am, you will have to wake up. Firstly you will face heavy coldness and gradually you will warm up yourself up to the glacier. Then you will have to trek across a peculiar ridge. It will be an amazing experience when the first sun rays hit on the mountain peaks. It will be a breathtaking moment when you will experience the red glow of the sun on the laps of Himalayas. On this route, you will get to see the beautiful peaks and its mysticism. After amazing climbing across the mountains, you will be coming back to Khare. At night stay in Khare.
Day 13: Reserved Day
Meal: B/L/D
This day is kept for your own reserve as a contingency in case if you are unable to climb up the Mera peak. Due to bad weather conditions, the people keep a single day in hands.
Day 14: Khare to Kothe
Altitude: 3600m
Meal: B/L/D
Time taken: 5hrs
Today you will be trekking to Kothe on the same path earlier. At night you can indulge in a little party by having local foods and wines. At night you will stay in Kothe.
Day 15: Kothe to Thuli Kharka
Altitude: 4300m
Meal: B/L/D
Time taken: 6 hrs
Today you will start your trekking towards Thuli Kharka. Firstly you will climb up and gradually you will be descending down the mountains. On your trekking path, you will be crossing Inkhu Khola and its tributaries before reaching Taktho a forked trail nearby. On your path, you will pass Chorten before taking downhill on a steep trail. Later you will be ascending to Thuli Kharka and then pass another Chorten on your path. At night you will stay in Thuli Kharka.
Day 16: Thuli Kharla to Lukla via Zatrwa La Pass

Time taken: 7hrs
Today you will be reaching Lukla via Zatrwa La Pass. On reaching the Lukla Valley, you will get beautiful sights of Himalayas. From Zatrwa La Pass you will be walking down till Chutang before entering Lukla village. At night you will be staying in Lukla.
Day 17: Fly to Kathmandu
Meal: B/L/D
Early morning you will be taking a flight to Kathmandu. You can spend your day visiting the local pilgrimage sites. You can also indulge in shopping.
Day 18: Departure
Meal: B/L/D
Your fabulous journey will come to an end today. Our driver will drop you at the airport and you will be taking the homebound flight.

Nepal Visa - The passport holders of India do not require any Nepal Visa. They must carry their Voter ID card or passport (For Indians).
Transportation: If you are booking your Nepal tour via Nepal Tourism Package, then you will get cars like Toyota Etios, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Polo, Tata Manza or similar kind of cars for 1-3 persons. Cars like Tourist Van (Toyota Hiace) or Jeep or Scorpio will be allotted for 10 persons. We will provide Green Plate vehicles for our tourists.
Recommendation - Some tourists avail flight on way to Pokhara from Kathmandu. It is advisable to take at least one way via road to enjoy the enchanting beauty of the natural landscape of Nepal.
